Freshers' Showcase
Triple Bill Charity ShowcaseThis is our annual charity showcase! All earnings collected from the tickets to the show are donated to a charity of our choice. What’s also great about this show, is that it is open to dancers of all levels of experience- from first-timers to veterans in the dance world. There are no auditions for this show, so we urge all of you to try something new, either by venturing into the world of dance for the first time, or by trying a style you’ve never done before! Last year’s showcase was in aid of two important charities: Anthony Nolan and Doctors of the World Anthony Nolan is a charity which helps people with blood cancers or disorders by matching them with people willing to donate their bone marrow. Doctors of the World are a charity which empowers excluded people (including asylum seekers, sex workers and homeless people) to access healthcare. We raised £358 for each charity, meaning £716 in total! You can find a playlist of all the pieces from last year’s triple bill charity showcase here. Bloomsbury Show - HUMANS
Leavers' Showcase
UCL Dance Society competes in multiple competitions in the UK every year. We have teams in most categories and both novice and advanced levels. From classical ballet to street and from contemporary to jazz, everyone can compete in their favorite style. We also compete in the solo, duo and trio categories so if your style isn’t available in the competition you can still show off your skills! In the 2016/2017 season our teams competed in our own competition titled “TranscenDance”, as well as Get Down @ RHUL, at Royal Holloway and KCL Just Dance It! at Kings College London. Our awards and achievements in all these three competitions are listed below! UCL- TranscenDance

Any changes to the timetable will be noted on the Facebook event page! So make sure you click attending to keep up to date on all that is happening in the month of May! Also, the videos after each workshop will be uploaded there too!! What does it mean to be human?
From the things that make us laugh and cry to feelings of love and joy, loss and betrayal, anger and isolation. UCLU Dance Society brings you “HUMANS” – a collection of real stories portrayed in dance of the things that make us human. From the simple pleasures of the everyday to the almost unimaginable extremes of joy and pain that some people find in their lives but that most of us will perhaps never know. We are all unique and different, living our lives in many different ways, but much of what we experience and how we perceive it is universal. With division and disagreement a seemingly increasing part of our current world, “HUMANS” takes a look at the almost infinite number of pathways we can be living on but how, beneath it all, we are similar in so many ways. “HUMANS” reflects just some of the things that are happening in our world right now, showing the unity that exists in our diversity and provoking the many and varied emotions that come with it.
