We have some exciting pre-term choreography and dance opportunities which have arisen if any of you are around during September before term starts to help out, choreo and rehearse! Should both be really good fun as well as awesome publicity opportunities for Dance Soc during Freshers - and before all the hectic learning begins! Please read on!!
The first is we are performing at the Welcome Fair (formerly known as the Fresher's Fayre). We have the stage from 11:50-12:20pm on Friday 28th September. I have bid that we should do revival pieces, new choreo and have a freestyle section to a) show off, b) scout hot new talent! If you would like to bid to choreograph either a revival piece or some new choreo please please message me! The second is that we are performing at a Fresher's event at Sway bar on October 2nd in association with RAG Society. The brief for performance is that it can be any style of dance but should be to drum and bass, dub step, electro or house music to fit in with the DJ styles. The night is Alice and Wonderland/Mad Hatter theme, so could be crazy good fun. Again we have a 30 minute slot at 12:15-12:45 at night, but are aiming for many, smaller performances. Again if you are interested please message me for more details. I'd love to hear from anyone interested and hope that you will embrace these unique opportunities to show your stuff! ♥ ![]() Looking back on this year, we've achieved a lot as a society! With 4 successful shows under our belts and a special recognition of excellence from the Provost for our professional performance of Delirium, we reckon we definitely deserve a pat on the back! We are so proud of our president, Ayeisha Thomas-Smith, for winning the Arts' Officer Award. Her outstanding artistic talent in her choreography and dancing over the year could not go unrecognised! Additionally, we have a list of Arts Commendations, Arts Colours and Arts Centenary prize winners from Dance Soc...all of whom can be found HERE. As well as being shortlisted for many other prizes, we are extremely humbled by everything we've accomplished. However, watch out, because next year...we plan to win as many prizes as possible! |
