Committee 16/17
President:
Jackie Hi everyone! I’m Jackie, a second year medical student. I’m trained in ballet and tap, but I’ve been branching out into other styles such as jazz, contemporary, and street. I’m thrilled to be involved with the Dancesoc committee this year. I hope to reach out to more freshers (and non-freshers) to give them the best experience at Dancesoc. Hope to see you around! |
Treasurer:
Michele Hi everyone! I’m Michele and I’m a second year studying Psychology with Education. Other than the occasional dabble in baby ballet and tap when I was younger, I only officially started training in classical ballet when I was 14. I love trying out new styles from contemporary to hip hop and am super excited to meet all of you! |
Vice President:
Charlie Hey I'm Charlie & I'm a fifth year medic but in my second year here at UCL. I've danced ballet, tap and jazz since I was 4 but love trying out any dance style I can! Dance has given me so many amazing opportunities and lifelong friends.. I would so encourage you to get involved! "I get a thrill out of moving to music." - A. Talwar, 2014 xoxo |
Bloomsbury Producer:
Immy Hi, I'm Immy! I'm a final year Chemistry student and this year's Bloomsbury Producer. I have been dancing many different styles all my life. I am mainly known for my tap dancing, but I started some Latin last year whilst studying abroad and I am really excited to continue this at dance soc. I can't wait to meet all the talented members this year! |
Communications Officer: Emma
Hey I’m Emma and I’m so excited to be Communications Officer for this year! I'm in my 3rd year studying medicine (with women's health iBSC). I take every opportunity I have to dance. I’m mainly a tap and ballet dancer but I love trying new styles. I hope to see you all around! |
Liaisons Officer:
Yong Hi I'm Yong! I'm a third year History student and I'm in charge of booking teachers for dance society's weekly classes, and organizing any other workshops along the way! I just started dancing 2 years ago, but you will find me in many classes because I know no shame and hey, learning new things is always fun! I'm also coincidentally that dude with the unkempt manbun, but do compliment me on it if you say hi... Come join me in any of the dance classes, I'm looking forward to dancing with everyone! |
Competitions Producer:
Nicole Hi dancey people! My name is Nicole Moy and I am a Classics finalist this year, but more importantly will be your new Competition Producer in charge of organising TranscenDance in December 2016. I have been a part of the UCLU Dance Society family for 4 years now and have been on the committee twice so I hope that I can help make this another great year! I have trained in ballroom and latin since the age of 10, but since coming to university have learned so many new and exciting styles, trying my hand mostly at hip hop and house, but I am always up for trying something new. I can't wait to have fun with you all this year :) |
Competitions Coordinator: Hanee
Hi everyone :) My name is Hanee and I'm a second year Chemistry student. I love dancing so much although it's only been two years since I've started! I mainly dance hiphop but I also love contemporary and do bit of jazz and tap on the side. I'm so excited to dance with you all! |
Resident Choreographer: Zuzana
Hi everyone! I'm Zuzana and I'm a second year anthropology student. I started dancing as a small child, trying everything from contemporary and jazz to latin until I discovered my love for hip-hop and similar styles at the age of 12. After my first year of dancing with UCLU Dance Soc, I'm sooo excited to come back again as a member of this year's committee! If you see me dancing around in cloisters, don't hesitate, come and join me! :) |
Social Secretary:
Elise Hi everyone! I'm Elise and I'm a final year Psychology student. I've been dancing since the age of 3 and to continue to doing so along side such talented dancers from UCLU Dance Soc is an opportunity I am grateful for! I'm really looking forward to producing a range of socials and getting to meet everyone. See you all soon! |
Scheduling Officer:
Elaine HEYA, I'm Elaine! I'm in my second year, studying BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance (yes, kind of a nerdy course). I have rhythmic gymnastics and ballet foundations; I dabble in other styles too - though you'd probably think I'm a muddlehead if you see me in these classes. But all is well because I'm learning and I hope to meet you guys on this journey as well! |
Volunteering Officer:
Millie Hey! I’m Millie and I'm a third year Natural Sciences student studying neuroscience and maths. I’ve been dancing since I was 3 and my favourite style is tap, but I want to pick up ballet and jazz again. I’m so excited to be on the committee this year and can’t wait to meet everyone! |
Publicity Officer:
Lorraine Hiya I'm Lorraine, a second year studying urban planning and design! I grew up dancing ballet, but have grown to love contemporary, jazz and other genres! Welcome to the dancesoc family, and hope dancesoc will become a second home like it has for me! See you soon :D |
Tech Officer:
Patrick Hellooo everyone! I'm Patrick, a third year Natural Sciences student from Hong Kong. I was greatly influenced by Kpop and started dancing 5 years ago :)) I now dance to Hiphop, Street and obviously more Kpop music haha. Can't wait to start dancing again with the UCLdancesoc family <3 |
Freshers' Rep:
Mohnaa Hi guys! I’m Mohnaa, a post-grad student doing my masters in law with human rights as my specialism. I am a belly-dancer and have been performing for the past 7 years. I have also learnt Bharatnatyam for 3 years at the age of 8. Dance, for me, is dedication, happiness, energy and grace, but bellydance specifically symbolises the strength in femininity. It’s great to be a part of the Committee this year as the Fresher’s Rep. As a fresher one has various doubts, and I’m here to remove them all. I am looking forward to interacting with you and bonding with all of you over dancing! <3 |
