Dance It!
“Dance It!” is our volunteering initiative, which involves members of the society going into secondary schools in central London to lead dance classes in a variety of styles and assist the children in their own choreography. The aim of the project is to spread our love of dance by getting children who haven’t danced before to have a go at a broad range of styles and hopefully find something they love and want to continue doing. The students work towards a small performance/competition with the other participating schools which we host at UCL, and the winners get the opportunity to perform with other members of our society at our annual triple bill showcase in February.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for our Danceit! project. Our volunteering initiative involves leading dance classes for young people and assisting them in their own choreography. The aim of the project is to spread our love of dance by getting teenagers who haven’t danced before to try a range of styles and hopefully find something they love and want to continue doing.
We’re looking for volunteers to teach/ assist during the sessions - all dance styles and levels of ability are welcome! It will be a 7-week programme starting in the first week of November (Week 29/10 – 4/11). If you are interested in getting involved, please register HERE to stay updated and hear about our information session.
